CORK

Our yoga blocks are made from natural, sustainable cork. Cork is one of the most environmentally friendly resources on the planet. It is a 100% natural, renewable, recyclable and biodegradable material that is derived through an eco friendly harvesting process.

 

Cork is hand harvested only from the bark of the cork oak tree, which means the trees are not cut down and therefore, continue to live and clean our air. These amazing trees have a lifespan of up to 300 years and can be harvested every 9 years, which allows one tree to supply cork for many generations.

 

The Mediterranean is home to the largest cork forests in the world, supporting one of the world’s highest levels of forest biodiversity, second only to the Amazonian Rainforest. These cork forests provide a vital source of income to more than 100,000 people and their families, so it is important we continue to utilise cork as a sustainable, renewable resource to ensure their livelihood continues.

 

Cork is also lightweight, durable and won’t retain moisture like foam, making it the perfect material for our yoga blocks.
